Converting games from the book to LibGDX

Postby rlsl88 » Sun May 13, 2012 2:58 am

Hi,

I've taken the basic Super Jumper game from the book and changed all the assets and added new features. I want to move it over to the latest build of LibGDX. How can I go about this? I've done the basic LibGDX setup but I haven't had a chance to do any tutorials for it yet.

Can I apply what I learned from the book directly to the LibGDX framework pretty easily? Or is it a big jump?

Thanks,
Randy

It should be familiar at least. Both Super Jumper and Droid Invaders are actually available as libgdx versions. See the SVN http://code.google.com/p/libgdx/source/ ... nk%2Fdemos

That being said, they of course might differ to the source in the book, you'll have to go through those and see what does and doesn't make sense.

Nice!

Thank you very much for all of your work.

I've bounced around from so many different game engines and frameworks the last few years. It's really refreshing to see one developed and documented so well.
