Graphics Effects in Overwatch

there are some "glowing" effects in the game Overwatch, for example in this video: ...
If you look at the right or left border of the screen you can see some effects. There are a few particles flying to the middle and the static triangles. Additionally there is this glowing effect, if you look closely you can see a few long glowing "peaks". They move vertically and the intesity / brightness changes during time.
I am interested in this glowing effect, does someone know how create it? Or maybe there is somewhere a tutorial how to make such effects.

I don't really know, but try looking for alpha blending

Looks like it's just a few blurry horizontal line sprites drifting up and down on either side. You can play around with sine waves to get sprites to move like those particles.
