Box2d Character Fixture Makeup for Fighting Game

So trying to figure out the best combination of fixtures and how to approach them for a fighting game. Here are the general concerns I'm worried about and any possible solutions I'm thinking right now:

- Jumping thru platform from bottom but not falling thru: Thinking a sensor but not sure

- Handling Slopes: Use a circle for the bottom half of the character

- What fixtures to use to more accurate detect collision

- How to handle attacks, this one is where I'm stumped, need to extend out from the character to detect how far out their arm, leg, weapon, whatever goes and see if it collides but not sure how to do that.
