Grafixator: 2D Editor + Random Graphics Generator - RELEASED

Postby steveyO » Mon Jul 18, 2016 11:23 am

After many hours of coding, we are pleased to finally introduce Grafixator. A 2D Game Editor and Random Graphics Generator for Libgdx.
Grafixator has support for Box2D, Box2DLights, Universal Tween Engine as well as many other features + an API to load and render your game.

Rather than explain all the features check out our web page.

We have just uploaded our first YouTube video today. Many tutorial videos will follow.

Within the next month or 2 we intend to open it up to a select group of libgdx forum members for testing. It will appeal to anyone interested in creating a 2D game. During this time we will fix bugs, add feature requests, improve the API and when we are happy it will be released to the public.

Finally, thanks to all the guys who made this possible: libgdx team, box2d team, box2dlights team, Universal Tween Engine, JH Labs.

Any questions feel free to drop me a line.

Steve + the team.

Looks nice. Can you specify the world size? One of the things that Overlap2d makes cumbersome is the assignment of the world size and then zooming/adjusting the size of objects... and the selecting is annoying too.

Thanks. Grafixator is primarily a Tiled/Map editor. So when you start you specify the size of your map (#rows, #cols, and tile width/height in pixels). The box2d world is then mapped automatically using the Tile Width/Height which essentially means your world maps to your tiledmap. You can place images/animations outside of your tilemap and assign any sprite as a box2d object.

Thanks, I have 4-5 bugs to fix first. As soon as this is done I will post details of the beta testing here.

Hello all,

Am pleased to announce that Grafixator-v0.1 is now available for Download. http://www.grafixator.com/download/.

Hopefully it should be intuitive on how to use, if not then I have explained most of the UI in the following page.
http://www.grafixator.com/grafixator-editor/

Or checkout the YouTube Introduction video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndx6cr7qSVU). More videos coming soon, so please subscribe to my channel.

Any issues then please let me know here, or preferably on the Grafixator Forum. Additionally, if you register on Grafixator you can also Upload your own Grafixator creations to the forum and also download other peoples creations. For a start I just uploaded the YouTube Intro shootem up game, and the API Demo Game.

Have fun!
Steve

p.s. Grafixator is free and always will be. At some point in the near future it will be open-sourced!
