com.badlogic.gdx.utils.GdxRuntimeException: APK expansion main version 285 or patch version 0 couldn't be opened!

Might be my device, never played with expansion things.

Does it crash? It should fallback to low res graphics when something went wrong with the expansion file.

Edit: storage permission is the issue, got to ask for it on 6+.

This game is amazing. I really love the ideas and the graphics.

There is one thing you maybe can work on: The movement. I like the idea of swiping to move the player, but it gets very very annoying after a few levels.

I have 2 ideas:
1. detect as soon as possible where tje swipe is going, so that the character starts to move sooner.
2. add another gesture: if you make a longer swipe, rather a dragging gesture the character could move more tiles.

Thanks for info.

Since Android 4.4 (API level 19), apps can read OBB expansion files without external storage permission. However, some implementations of Android 6.0 (API level 23) and later still require permission, so you will need to declare the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission in the app manifest and ask for permission at runtime as follows:


This should be fixed now.

1. I tried this in the early stages of the game. Turned out that it does not feel good when the character moves after finger moved a given threshold. So i decided to go with a clear "confirmation point" by touchUp.

2. I really thought about this for while. Not sure if that works well in a turn based game. I think I have to implement and try out.

I have played it again. It is an amazing game and usually I dont play apps.

I figured something: The root of it is actually that the second movement from the second swipee will happen after the first animation finished. And this time delay makes it bad (exaggerated).
